Sick Fun
Brutality Get two Level 1 characters to fight to the death. No magic, no armour - just shovels. Initiation Seal the entrance of the tavern (or whatever building 8 is called) with Glyphs of Warding, and then Summon Monsters inside it. Wait until a newbie starts a new character. If he lives, he's ...

Re: Auto-retire
One thing I've always liked about Angband, both Vanilla and Multiplayer, is the open-endedness. Most games force you to trundle along a set path, towards predetermined goals, but in Angband, you can do anything you want. The de jure goal is to kill Morgoth, but you can go about doing that any way ...

Water and Lava
This, I imagine, would be a fairly minor addition. In Zangband, there are often streams, and even rivers and lakes running through the dungeon. At lower levels, these are replaced with lava. I don't think it would be an enormously big deal, but it would add a bit of flavour to underground adventur...

Re: Good party names I've seen
A macro! *slaps forhead* Why didn't I think of that?
Don't answer that. It was a rhetorical question.
Froof: how about "Los Huevos Revueltos" or "El Pan Tostado" (I'm in beginner's Spanish ;D ).

Re: PVP Question.
Well, there's no point changing names to protect the guilty. I was the rogue (or actually Paladin, strangely) who did the deed. It was a thoughtless thing to do, and I do regret it, and I hope to avoid bad blood as well.
Please accept my apology; I assure you it won't happen again.

I've also noticed that the tavern is inexcusably understaffed.

Re: Invisibility
That might make a {cursed} Ring of Invisibility a real nasty "gift" for a newbie player.

Re: Longevity contest
Maybe you should outline the contest more clearly. What did you have in mind? Restricting all players to a particular dungeon level? A forced dive, with the last survivor being the winner?
What are the rules for equipment, experience levels, and such? Do the playes fight one another?

Re: Good party names I've seen
My favourite party name is "Dungeon Rats" mainly because I made it up. ;) Froof comes up with interesting ones in (I think) Spanish, though I can't be bothered to look them up. ("Queso Mojado" is the only one I remember). I think Party "X" should get an honorable mention, for being the easist and ...

Re: Slime molds
You omitted: Edmund, Lawrence, Chauncey, Humphrey, Earl, Rupert, and The Reverend Plantagenet O' Rourke. (Tom, Dick, and Harry get an honorable mention). And what about female names? Esmerelda, Christabel, Margaret, Phillipa, Genevieve, Marie, Olga. What's the difference between male and female sli...

Invisibility
Is it feasible (or desirable) to have potions of invisibility, or even items that grant invisibility (a plain gold ring, perhaps?). I remember items like this in ToME and Nethack.
