Re: Compiling on Kubuntu
I set up macros for the movement keys, but now I have yet another problem. I can't run, and toggling numlock doesn't help. Also, the one windowed display seems to work fine, but the non SDL one just has a main window that displays the game and three other black, function-less windows. Do you guys kn...

Re: Compiling on Kubuntu
Huh. Now that it's running, I'm still having a problem; If I want to move in-game, I have to use the numbers. Not the num pad, but the actual bar of numbers near the top of my keyboard. Before I try and figure out what's going on, has anybody had this problem? I think it's probably got something to ...

Compiling on Kubuntu
I've been trying to compile MAngband on Kubuntu, and when I try make, I get this: karl@karl-laptop2:~/mangband/src$ make gcc -Wall -g -pipe -DUSE_GCU -o mangband common/z-util.o common/z-virt.o common/z-form.o common/z-rand.o common/net-unix.o common/net-win.o common/sockbuf.o server/variable.o serv...

Farmer Maggot's Farm
I have a quick question for an administrator: You know those fields far above town? The ones with the cabbage, carrots, squash, and potatoes? Well, here's my question: Do those vegetables respawn?
I'm dying to know.
I'm dying to know.

Re: Multiple Towns
Yeah, I just tried ToME. I don't really think it's for me. Anyway, I think those are really awesome ideas. Different starting towns would be really awesome, maybe with some race/class combinations being unable to start in certain towns. The idea of a teleport tower is perfect, in my opinion. I reall...

Multiple Towns
Here's an idea that I've had for a long time that I just want to throw out for discussion: We could have more than one town. That is, on the world map, there could be distinct, geographically separated towns. For instance, there could be a town north of the current one, on an island or island chain....

Re: Can We Have a Level One Weekend or Something?
Okay, official goal: reach 1000ft. Let's do it at Greenwich 6:00PM, all characters must be level one with 0 experience and starting inventory at the start of the event, etc.

Re: Can We Have a Level One Weekend or Something?
How about 6:00PM, Greenwich mean time, then? I think that would be about 9 for people near Moscow. Unfortunately, it would still be pretty late for people east of there. If anyone lives farther east and wants to participate but can't be up late, we could reschedule more.

Re: Can We Have a Level One Weekend or Something?
Hey, I have another idea: maybe this can be a wilderness run out to -100,000ft! People have done it, and there's enough stuff lying in the wilds to make it interesting. Some of the people who died way out there were pretty high-leveled, and it could make for an interesting situation when a massive g...

Re: Focus on the New User
Yeah, we did before hand, but after the leveling up, Zapoila was level 3 (he died a few time in the dungeon, usually because the RNG hated him) and so the leveling wasn't too effective. I think next time we'll all try to be level 9 and up before setting out.
