Here's a new idea. Since I'm going to be reworking the magic books, and rangers need a fresh alternative to carrying big stacks of arrows, and arrows and ranged magic are covered by the same function... I thought: why not make spells just for rangers, that require a bow to be equipped, that fire arrows? Like, say, normal arrows at L15, low branded arrows at L30, high branded arrows at L40/41, and perhaps a supercharged mana-brand arrow at L48. This would eliminate the need for arrow cleanup crews after killing something. What do you guys think?
