[BMA] A Bug!

Post by Maegdae » Mon 13.12.2004, 03:54

All items with a random high resist except magi amulets give resist blind! Avaris, Istaris, Elvenkinds, Amans.. Another player and I have found multiple copies of each, and it's always resist blind. This isn't luck or co-incidence, being that I've personally seen.. at least 10-15 items with resist blind, and none with another resist.

I'm still trying to fix this problem. I have heard a report of someone finding a Res Poison Terken, so I think there might be a range-checking or similar numeric issue.

YEAH!!!! WOO HOO!!!

I fixed the evil bug!

It turns out that, due to a return statement I neglected to remove, no ego-items were getting to the stage where they would get their randomized bonuses.

Game on!

Found what's probably a new bug. While recalling to rescue someone, I realized that his dead character wasn't logged in, and to avoid resetting the level, I quickly saved. When I logged back on, my recall took me to my max depth rather than the inscribed depth. I recalled and tried again, and I went to the inscribed depth this time. Don't know if this will be a problem, people don't usually save mid recall, but just posted to let you know (not to mention the 50k reward).

Now there's one that hadn't occurred to me. The game didn't save the target recall depth when you exited, but did save that you were recalling.

I'll give you your reward when I run into you next. Or, you could buy a house and I will put it inside...

I actually do have a house, don't know if you need coordinates, here they are in case: 63, 47 of -50.
Thanks.

So yeah, I'm back already.
Found what appears to be another bug. After several of my characters have died, and subsequently ghost-died, their houses have not reset. I have logged in immediately after ghost death, so no chance of someone else having bought the house. Speaking of things not being refreshed, some of the levels(200, 450, 500, etc.) between 0 and 800 are static, and have been at least since yesterday. Perhaps something can be done about this?

I'll unstatic the levels, since I can do that as RNG, but resetting the houses will have to wait until I have time to figure out which ones were yours, manaball their contents, and reset them. It takes longer than I have to play right now.

The house bug is an unfortunate side-effect of the keyless houses, really... and I have so much homework I don't have time to fix it. Any given house doesn't reset when its owner dies. That's the bug. It's predictable and certain.

Update: I unstaticed all levels from 50' through 800'. The game timed out when I tried to visit 800' and 50'. I was unable to test other depths. I don't know why this happened... it may be an overflow or some other issue, but it's happened before. Must fix this issue...

Update: I can't figure it out!! Just... don't go there because the game will stop responding! AARGH!
