Legacy: Separate keys for different messages
Legacy: Separate keys for different messages
How about having separate keys for public messages, group messages, and private message, and remove the effect of : in a message. This'll become more important with more players.
Re: Legacy: Separate keys for different messages
I like this idea.. sometimes it can be important to quickly say something to the party, and the new client makes it impossible to set up a macro that inputs a colon, then your party name, then another colon, which was a good way of doing it previously.
Something addressing this could be done fairly easily on the client side alone. For example.. how about if you press colon twice (or a colon as the first character in the chat window, in the new client), it sends the message to your party?
I.e.. what you type as the first character in a line in the chat window:
[tt]:[/tt]
What magically appears in the chat window (if your party name was "gloop"), ready for you to type a message in after it:
[tt]gloop:[/tt]

Yea, good idea, this has been implemented in the client now and will no doubt available for download real soon. Although the keypress is currently set to '/' so people can still enter a smiley.
