This is a fun idea...
In PWMAngband, I have implemented something similar (it was existing in old pernmangband). One of the classes (the Telepath) has a cool spell called Mind Vision which is available at quite low level (6 IIRC) in a basic book with low requirements (mana, fail rate). This spell allows a player to "penetrate another player's mind": basically, that player will "see" what the other player sees on the main map without the ability of interacting with that player; the number of commands available while the mind of a player is linked is really limited (chat and display info about artifacts, uniques, parties, players, highscores...)... once another command is sent, the mind link is broken and the player regains his/her own view of the map. So when you want to see something interesting happening to another player (rescue, uni fight...), just make a telepath, cast Mind Vision (preferably in a safe spot), sit back and relax...

Sounds like a nice idea, But the affected person should be informed of this and maybe some classes can counter the spell if they want to block this.

Fitting names maybe -

Mind Vision & Mind Shield

in an advanced version maybe a "mind control" could be used on monsters? :) (which would work like a charm spell) but this is problably a variant and a complete balance killer.

That would be very varianty, but I think a variant that contains pets would be pretty sweet, but thats another topic for another post.

Ive always liked watching intense fights, so this mind vision would be cool.
