Priest/Paladin Spells

    Several high level Priest/Paladin spells are either completely useless or buggy.  Annihilation seems to only do token damage to monsters, and none at all to players; it costs 70 mana and has a 15% fail rate for a level 48 paladin with 18/*** wis!  With a more normal wis of 18/130, the fail rate increases to 42%.  Alter Reality seems to have no effect at all; perhaps this could be fixed or replaced with something?  Brand Weapon only works on normal, non-ego weapons, does not add signifacantly to their to-hit/dam bonuses if they are +9 +9 or therebouts, and only seems to add a cold brand.  Any suggestions on effective use of this spell?

As to the fail/cost, these can be checked in angband.

As to the bugs, I'll look into that.
