Perhaps we should re-enable the "unused menu command" with BEN_HACK and use it to allow the user to switch between original and new colors, with new being default. I notice that the color table we use is a variable array, which can probably have another array copied into it at any point. We'd just have to refresh the whole screen afterwards - preferably only on the client side.
