Better Prizing !

Post by Fink » Thu 20.02.2003, 08:19

Isildur has everything and more than all Elvenkind with (Confusion, Sound, Nexus). But is priced 50k cheaper.

Stat potions are about 10k, but ring Con +6 (very usefull at lest for low levels) is prised at something like 3.5k and that would be able to take you to 18/***, potions won't.

For rings Str, Int, Dex, Con these prices would be better : (Same for Wis amulet)
+1 1k, +2 2k, +3 3k, +4 4k, +5 9k, +6 27k,
Chr amulet = 1/3 of above.

Speed +1 is a Crappy ring. priced well I donno, 100k?
Speed +16 is way better than +10.

We need to go exponential for all high +.
Well maybe not exponential, but alot better than linear or whatever we have today.

I agree with re-pricing, except I believe it should be somewhat harsher.  Stat raising items can take you above your racial max while potions cannot.  I believe that especially in the case of non ring/amulet gear (kollas, shields, gloves, headgear etc) that raise stats should have an extra price tacked on of at least the equivalent of stat potions.  So if it is say an orcish shield +2 it would need an extra 32000 added on to equal the base price of 2 str potions and 2 con potions.  High damage / accuracy / slaying / speed rings should have at least double value.  High probably being anything over 10 (actually values on damage / accuracy / slaying rings in general need to be re-thought, +20 rings sell for under 5k).  Items with AC or +to hit or damage above 15 needs to have far more than the mere + $50 per plus that it is currently.  +15 is IMPOSSIBLE to attain via character intervention and is therefore godly.  I believe exponential value would be justified.
