Chaos resistance: also covers Confusion?

It seems like this has changed in the past with Angband, but I was unsure what is true in Mangband: Does Chaos resistance also cover Confusion resistance? Will it also prevent being confused? I tried wearing an item with Chaos res, but saw no change to my Confusion res on the character sheet.
