Hello!
I just downloaded mangband, and being a long-time nethack player and fan of mmorpgs, I can't wait to start playing! My problem is that whenver I start to connect to any server, I get:
./mangclient-061.glibc-2.1.linux: Server didn't respond!
As you can see, I'm using linux (debian).
Any ideas what may be wrong?
My firewall should not be the problem, I'm allowing all outbound traffic...

You need to get the 0.7.0 or 0.7.2a source from this website and compile it. The version you have is way too old and the servers we have running won't allow you to play. Instructions abound on these forums.. There is no Debian package AFAIK. There aren't many Linux distros that can package MAngband. For more details... google for "debian mangband".
If that doesn't work, try putting your machine in the DMZ on your router (not usually a good idea) or setting up port forwarding (better idea). Again, there are a lot of posts around the forums on the subject, so I won't rewrite them here.
