Mangband http proxy

Post by Mithrandir » Mon 28.11.2005, 11:48

Hi!
I want to play mangband and I behind a proxy firewall. The only port open is the port 80 and ssh. Is there any version of angband already configured or a tunnelling software ( via http proxy or something, im really newbie in the network aspect ) server that works to play mangband in this particular situacion?

Thanxs!

PD: Sorry, my English is very, very bad...  :)

Well, if you had another PC somewhere outside of the proxy firewall you could bounce your connection off that.  If you don't have access to another PC which you can configure in this way, then as far as I know you can not play standard MAngband.

There is a possibility that you could play Ironman MAngband by downloading the special Windows client which accesses the Ironman server over the SSH port.  This will only work if your proxy firewall isn't performing any fancy packet inspection, but perhaps it is worth a try.
