Connection is rejected with: "unable to join channel (invite only)". Sup?

I'm sorry, we've recently reclaimed the channels, to get ops etc and for some reason it was set to invite only. Thanks for the notice, not sure I'd have spotted that :)

Still got problems with the channel: "#mangband Cannot send to channel" when typing something.

And the mangband bot doesn't seem to display anything...

It has been a few days now that I can't connect to IRC again. Sup?

With the same error as above? And does this still happen? (considering we're noticing it 8 days later)

Nope, it seems that the whole freenode server is down (or unavailable). Has MAngband channel moved?

No, the MAngband channel has not moved, and from what I can tell, the Freenode network is still up, perhaps you've just been connection to a poor server?

What's the command to connect to the #mangband channel directly? I'm using mIRC and I don't see any special parameter attached to the link I have on the desktop.

I'm not sure exactly how it is done in mIRC, but in ChatZilla it is done by specifying the server as:

Code: Select all

irc://freenode/MAngband
If you are already connected to Freenode, a simple join should suffice:

Code: Select all

/join #MAngband
Specifying the channel won't help if you're not connected to Freenode though. If connecting to Freenode as a network doesn't work, you can try to specify chat.freenode.net as server, which will assign you to the assumed closest server, otherwise there is a list of servers on their website: http://freenode.net/irc_servers.shtml

Ok it works now. I was using irc.freenode.net as server name, which was not working. Using chat.freenode.net instead fixed the problem.
