Which weapon should I use?

Post by CerealKiller » Sun 08.05.2005, 00:48

Okay, this isn't in Mangband. This is in Zangband.
Anyway, I was level 17 and 350 feet down, and I figured I had better be getting see invis and free action soon. So, I turned on autoscummer for a few levels. This was met with great success. At 300 ft down, I found:

The Dagger "Narthanc" (1d5) (+4, +6)
It can be activated for Firebolt (9d8 ) every 8+d8 turns if it is being worn. Does extra damage from fire. It is perfectly balanced for throwing. Provides resistance to Fire and Chaos. It provides light (radius 1) forever. It can't be harmed by acid, electricity, fire, or cold.
(I *identify*'d it when I saw the name, it's an artifact too).

Annddd...

A Warhammer (Defender) (3d3) (+5, +8 ) [+1] (+1 to stealth)
Improves Stealth. Provides immunity to Paralysis. Provides resistance to Acid, electricity, fire and cold. Enables Feather Falling, see invisible and regeneration. It can't be harmed by acid, electricity, fire or cold.

In addition to my two previous weapons:

A tulwar of slaying (4d4) (+3, +8 )

A mace of slay orc (2d4) (+1, +4)

So i'm thinking that the warhammer fits my needs greatly, but the dagger's firebolt attack is nice, plus resistance to chaos (i don't think i'll be needing that for a while though). plus it's an artifact. Which one should I be using?

I forgot to mention I'm a Klackon Ranger.

BTW i posted it here because I don't know any Zangband forums.

You should take this to RGRA. That's the newsgroup rec.games.roguelike.angband.

If you don't get newsgroups with your ISP, use the angband.oook.cz portal to access and post there:
