Hi there!
I wanted to give some feedback on the new forum layout. Maybe I am the only one but I dislike the "updated" topic symbols, the old ones where much more obvious. How others do see this?
Tried to switch layouts / colors in the user control but could not find any options for that.

Unfortunately these icons are simply the default theme from phpBB3, feel free to direct suggestions to http://www.phpbb.com
I hadn't really noticed these icons until you mentioned them (shows how much attention I pay!). The only new feature I cared about was the new "view active topics" link on the front page of the forums. This simply shows you topics from all subforums which are active, try it here. I think this makes the updated status icons obsolete really?

Hm the active topics also shows topics with "nothing new in it", will try to wwork via the "new posts" option.
As another option maybe we make those colors for "unchanged topics" inverse - then it can be easily distinguished from the ones that are "new"
If you want I can send you a modified icon for the "topic_read.gif"
But since there is rather lwo feedback on this one I am the only one with this problem?:)

Active topics shows a lot of stuff in there for me. In the Active Topics view, at the bottom of the page is a drop down menu "Display posts from previous X days". What's yours set to? Mine says 7.
"View New Posts" seems a bit dodgy to me, I see only 2 topics there, whilst I see 18 in "Active Topics". Active topics gives a much better overview of what's changing I think.
Maybe someone else can comment if they see anything in Active Topics ?

It works, but I don't really use it Jug, I guess my forum browsing habbits force me to search for colored icons :)
Ace, if you can do graphics, please go on! Some mangband-themed icons could be good too :)

Haha, I cannot do graphics very well but that's no limitation for Mangband or?

Hmm, can we perhaps disable *graphical* smileys by default for all posters? :)
For example, when I look at this topic all I see is a lot of smiley faces, and some text inbetween. I think, taking mangband community tastes (ascii for graphics anyone?) that is not as absurd as it would sound on some other board...

I haven't the faintest idea what these graphics you are seeing are Flam. :-)
