Hello!

Houses are now limited to 2 per character. This has some subtle game rebalancing effects and means there will generally be more housing available in the future. Characters who currently have more than 2 houses won't lose their existing houses, but they will be unable to buy more and they will not be able to make use of the cool new housing features.

But isn't that counting as 4 houses?

No. Combined structures like this will either count as 1 towards the current limit of 2 or maybe not counted as part of that limit at all.
