Well the goal is never permanent: that one highly successful party originally set the goal of hitting 1000ft, then they recalled and shot for 1500ft. Assuming they lived, they would probably have made another shot at 2000ft, and so on. While this is essentially doable on Ironman, I think that the standard server would both make it easier for newer players to get involved and make it easier for multiple groups to be diving at the same time. Also, if there are some deaths in one group, the survivors can go back up and regroup at the "supply camp", which I thought was a really cool idea last time.
