LVL 1 party dive - tomorrow (27th Feb)

Post by serina » Fri 26.02.2010, 20:59

Hello everyone.

Been a long time since we've had a big serious party. I'd like to start a lvl 1 diving party tomorrow (saturday 27th of Feb) at 5 PM Central European time.

Central European time is 9 hours ahead of Vancouver Olympics, meaning 8 AM Vancouver time. I'm sure everyone can figure out how far they're ahead or behind then.

If not alot of people show, we will try Sunday same time (or maybe both days if we're feeling lucky)

I would like to see a balanced party containing almost 1 of each class. We will be speed diving to about 350 feet and then go on as a party from there. Follow the designated party-leader, and take no chances. I mean NO chances (phase door just before dying is too late). As a big party, we're really strong.

The mage starts with Word of Recall, and will donate this scroll for someone to go to town and bring down recalls for everyone when we have "good" enough stuff to sell for 1 inventory. This means that everyone should focus on having enough rations/oil (4-6 rations and 15000 turns lantern oil). Also phase doors and 1-2 CSW potions is critical for each member to ensure our survival.

The first person going to town needs to get (in order of priority ranked from top to bottom):
1a) Cure Serious Wounds (10 for each member in party), 1b) Phase doors (10 for each member in party)
2) 198 Arrows if the party contains a ranger.
3) Scrolls of enchant weapon to damage (5 per meleer + ranger for bow)
4) Extra WoR in case of fire (burning)
5) Heroism potions (3 for each meleer)
6) Regeneration amulets for casters (priest/mage, maybe for paladin/ranger/rogue, but not priority)

And most of all we will have FUN! If not fun success, then a fun DEATH! Nobody's allowed to get pissed if they die. It's a natural part of MAngband :)

If you're gonna be late, you can always speed-diveone of the strong warriors or paladins down and catch up. Also if you're lucky, a lvl 4 ranger/rogue can make it to 1k feet.

It was a great success. First party consisted of 6-7 characters, the next of 5? Both parties did really well and had brilliant moments :)

We will start another one today at 2pm (CET) if enough people show up! That is - in 2hr 30 mins from this post.

Yeah... It was so hard to arrange... (sorry for that) *giggle*
But someone needs to pick up the slack cause I'll be on vacation for 2 weeks, and then 1 week of terribly busyness at work. Doesn't mean that the rest of you should just slack as usual :) have more FUN! It's what MAngband is all about.

Oh, don't be so modest!

You made sure there were enough cookies and coffee, mimeographed the flyers, typed up the meeting notes. You put some serious work into this.

LVL 1 party dive - Sunday-diving (18th of July)

Post by serina » Fri 16.07.2010, 14:17

Hello everyone.

Been a long time since we've had a big serious party. I'd like to start a lvl 1 diving party this week (Sunday 18th of July) at 5 PM Central European time (Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Paris, Oslo etc. Check here to find your timezone in comparison http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

I would like to see a balanced party containing almost 1 of each class. We will be speed diving to about 350 feet and then go on as a party from there. 4) Extra WoR in case of fire (burning)
5) Heroism potions (2 for each meleer)
6) Mage/Priest books 1-3
