That is just unbelieveable. And so typical.
RNG figured, "oh whoops, stupid typo, I put a 2 infront of that 3 instead of a 1.... better set things straight"

I've found my way back here after something like six years, and it looks like there's some recent news on the front page... might have to download the client again and take a look ;)
Anyway, while I'm here, I always thought that the shield I had during my successful **KING**ing attempt was pretty exceptional:
i) an Orcish Shield of Preservation [5,+44] (+2) {!skvdt}
The random high resistance was nether.
I am amazed by the speed ring finds... I remember back when I first started playing MAngband, Angus/Domino had dual +18s, and that was considered godlike... in my own win, the best I had was a +14. To think RoS over 20 could even exist... much less a 21, much less a 23! is just beyond belief. I haven't looked at the MAngband source in a very long time, but now that I've begun learning some programming languages, C among them, it might be worth a more serious inspection. In any case, I expect the odds of something that high are just stupefying.
