Greetings!
i just found a scroll of Acquirement
i know what it does, but i can sell it at the magic shop for 92k, which would be four times my current gold.
is it worth trying? or should i sell it and buy stat potions?

Sell it. The chance of the item it produces being worth anywhere near 92k is extremely small. Most likely it will create a useless slay weapon or one resist armor. If you like playing the lottery, tho, you might read it.

Dah! Lame! I wish I would have read this before last night. I found a scroll on 1550 or 1600, and got robbed, as it were. 92k gold! The item I got sold for less than 2k!

It kind of begs the question as to what the purpose is of the scroll. Kinda sounds like it isnt a neat way to get a cool item, but instead is just a cashiers check, cashable in town. Maybe it could be tweaked a bit?

Yep. Needs tweaking alright. The whole idea was for it to generate an item that makes you say "Awesome!" at your level... but MAngband economics being what they are, you can easily buy anything a minorly-upgraded Acquirement will get you at your deepest livable depth.
Don't get me started on economics again ;D

Coming full circle on this issue, Crimson has mentioned that these are treated as a an object drop, such as taking on a monsters. So, it seems Ashi et all was right, and it really is a good idea to save these and read them in in a greater vault on 6350.
Do I recall someone mentioning this is how Deathwreaker was found?
