Greetings

Howdy all,

I just figured I'd register and say hi.  Just started playing a few days ago.  I'm a long time Angband and ZAngband freak but I've never really been hardcore (as in, can actually get below level 20 without a few save file cheats) ... notice, I'm such a loser, I still use dungeon level instead of feet.

Anyway, MAngband is pretty stinking cool.  I hope to see tons of people online in the future.

Hiya!
Hope you'll have lots of fun playing, and don't worry too much about dying, MAngband will turn you into a great player, eventually :)

Cya in the game soon

Yeah, about macros...

How do you guys handle having multiple characters with obviously different macro needs?  I have a warrior on mangband.org and a mage on my LAN server.  But the same client gives me the same macros... I don't like having to remember who I am and where I am and loading a specific macro file.

Ooh, I should make a macro to load my macro files :)  Is there any way to echo stuff so I could tell myself which macro I loaded and such?

Or just do a search.

But basically - if you play with a warrior - save his macro dump as warrior.prf - if you play a paladin, save as paladin.prf
Same, if you have two paladins, one called sanjuro and one called jurosan, save each their dumps as sanjuro.prf and the other as jurosan.prf.
They'll load by default, or if you feel like making sure, you can just load them manually. Personally I don't trust the game enough to risk losing whatever character I have, so I always load them manually and test all macro's before going down.
