Elven gloves?

I saw them in the black market once for like 22000 gold unenchanted. Why are they worth so much for 1 AC and do they have any secret powers?

Yes,
They grant regeneration.

Yeah, thats about the right BM multiplier for elvens (common stor price is 5-6k or so, so that price for shop 7 is fitting).
Keep in mind that elvens are a base type of sort, so you can get some yummy combos like elven gloves of agility, etc, going on.
