Crimson's Appearance

Post by Fink » Tue 24.08.2004, 19:49

It is about time for Crimson to make an appearance. His regularly scheduled appearance would be greately appreciated. AS is we see him once every 6 months... Maybe someone should sub in for him who has knowledge of how Mangband works behind the scenes.

I am almost inticed to start my own server and figure it all out!
Well as for now i am going to play Dungeon Siege.

Well, he was around a month ago or so. I guess we then have a 5 month wait ahead of us.

You do bring up a good point re: admin. Regular audits and house/party/art resets would be cool.

A problem, of course, is who. We're a bit short, on isengard, of experienced players / kings who play regularly: just us noobs who always get squished at 3k :P

I used to have a login for the development server... too bad that wouldn't work for the game server.

Crimson, if you're reading this, I will do the regular maintenance for you if I can get a login and instructions. You won't catch me playing with GDB and patching a running instance, though... you reckless hacker ;)

If you guys want to play on a maintained server with some extra goodies, DServ will be back online in a week or so. If that computer still runs, that is!

It would be great to get some one to fix things, but maybe it is time to start the server from scratch. I just loathe to have to spend the time rebuilding what I have spent a year to build up, a lvl 34 mage and a lvl 45 warrior.

I will be heading off to school soon and won't have the time to put in the amount I would have liked. If not sooner maybe this winter break, things will have returned to a state of stability.

I sure would have liked to reach lvl 50 before school, but priorities must be sorted out.
