Not a bad weekend at mangband.org

Well, it wasn't a bad weekend at all for the mangband.org server. I'm super jetlagged and so not sleeping much, which allowed me to notice that 24 hours a day, nearly, there was anywhere from 3-8 players on throughout. Awesome!

As well, I noticed a few new faces of the "I play Angband, and was curious if this MAngband thing really existed" sort - enough to make me wonder if the Ironman announcements on usenet have actually had the secondary effect of promoting Mangband in general - perhaps something we should take note of.

Alrighty, time to work on getting my haste fail rate down

Promoting MAngband in general is the primary aim of the Ironman Competition not the secondary.

The Windows server release, the Ironman server and the Ironman Competition are all just so much noise to try and bring attention back to MAngband.  A recently much neglected variant.
