Watch out with fountains in the 1.1.3 beta. I drank a few times and got the ruination effect 3 times almost in a row. It makes them useless with that risk. I need to check why...

I had the time to fix some of the issues I found in the beta release:
- Dragons and Monks should never autoequip a weapon at birth
- effect descriptions with a '%' character were not displayed properly
- some redraw events were not dispatched properly on the client
- no Detonations effect when drinking from a fountain
- some amulets were displayed as rings with the David Gervais tileset
- some wands were displayed as rods with the David Gervais tileset
- monsters with the '*' ASCII symbol were not displayed properly with the David Gervais tileset
- bolt/ball/breath effects were not displayed properly with the David Gervais tileset
- fixed what may have been a subtle bug in item generation
- fountains were yielding potions of Ruination almost half of the time at 750ft and deeper

Please update servers and clients (note that the following are direct links to the files now):

More issues fixed today... and these ones were nasty!

- discard screen updates when changing graphical tileset to avoid RLE-encoded streams to be decoded in the wrong mode
- fixed a problem with the old tileset when updating a single tile given by its (x ,y) coordinates
- due to save_server_info() and save_player() freezing the server for 500ms/1s on every call, the server state is now saved every 10 minutes instead of every minute

No, and it looks like the Mangband and Ironman Mangband servers aren't showing on the meta either. I'm not getting error messages saying they're having troubles finding the meta server, so I don't know what's going on. It's possible that the virus checker (Avast SBS version) did some sort of update that blocked the ports, but I can't find any information that would show them doing it. I'm going to run a round of updates and then do a restart of the machine, though that's something I typically don't have to do, it's a server for g*** sake.

No idea why, a but a server reboot took care of it.

Another update...
For this one, I rewrote the loading/saving system, using the V system (binary files). Periodic saves of server/player savefiles (every minute) were taking too long to complete, freezing the server for over a second. Savefiles are now 10 times smaller, and loading/saving is 10 times faster.

Changes:
- server/player savefiles are now saved/loaded as binary files instead of text files
- rod of Treasure Location was weighting 5lbs instead of 1.5lbs like all other rods
- some more monster attr/char definitions remapped in graf-new.prf (Adam Bolt tileset)
- added a tool to convert server/player savefiles from binary to text and from text to binary
- the Elemental Bolt spell now has less chances to become a beam
- multi-key macro support and the associated delays have been disabled
- new command: "K" (destroy a stack of items - same as destroy, but doesn't ask for quantity)

Please update servers and clients:
- client: http://www.humyo.fr/10073229/PWMAngband ... client.zip
- lib: http://www.humyo.fr/10073229/PWMAngband ... ta_lib.zip
- server: http://www.humyo.fr/10073229/PWMAngband ... server.zip
- source code: http://www.humyo.fr/10073229/PWMAngband ... ta_src.zip

Note when updating the server: with the new loading/saving system, the server won't restart with the old text files. To restart the server without losing server/character savefiles and to avoid a total reset, you need to use the new tool provided with the new server zip file. The new tool is an executable called mangconvert.exe... here's how it works:
- run the following command: "mangconvert -b" (this will create the binary files for all player savefiles and server savefile in the /save directory)
- remove the old savefiles
- rename the generated files (*.bin): remove the "bin" extension, the generated files will be readable by the loading routine

To edit a savefile, you can also use the tool:
- run the "mangconvert" command (this will create "file.txt")
- edit the text file
- remove the "txt" extension
- run the "mangconvert -b" command (this will create "file.bin")
- remove the "bin" extension

Another update. This one fixes more serious issues, especially with graphic mode, and implements bigtile mode. This unfortunately breaks a few things, in particular the cursor (I didn't reimplement it after changing the term system to the V system), and bigtile mode isn't perfect yet (few bugs subsist, in particular with the Adam Bolt and David Gervais tilesets because of transparency bits).

Changes:
- the Options/Graphics menu is now disabled during gameplay to avoid clients disconnecting with "unknown packet" message when changing gfx mode
- generating a character with quick-start mode was always displaying that character as a human warrior if gfx was enabled
- the monster list subwindow was not refreshed when monsters were detected by magical means
- some more monster attr/char definitions remapped in graf-new.prf (Adam Bolt tileset)
- revert auto-retaliator to MAngband system (one target is picked up randomly when surrounded)
- squelchable items picked up with "g" shouldn't be tagged as (squelch) when dropped
- added a check so that the DM doesn't accidentally reset someone else's house
- some packet processing commands on the server were returning the wrong value
- some player pictures for Dunadan characters were not defined in the Adam Bolt tileset
- the window options for main term were not saved properly
- the panel boundaries were sometimes recalculated incorrectly when the main window was resized (happened when the new size was an odd number and the maximum size was a multiple of that new size)
- new term code from Vanilla Angband (z-term.c)
- bigtile mode should now work as intended
- picking up gold didn't refresh the floor item

As a side note, xdir seems to work again so I uploaded the new files to the usual location. Please update servers and clients: http://powerwyrm.fr.tc/PWMangband

DAMMIT!!!
There was a critical bug in the previous release that was automatically crashing the client as soon as more than 24 monster races were displayed on the screen (because of the monster list subwindow). This is now fixed. Please report any client crashing...
Update your client asap: http://powerwyrm.fr.tc/PWMangband

Another update. This one fixes the major issues remaining with the beta. The full dungeon map is now fully functionnal (gfx mode only): check Options/Map submenu and see how COOL it is!!!

Changes:
- the cursor is now working again
- the "big cursor" is now fully functionnal
- old 8x8 tileset was broken (client receiving unknown packets in setup mode), because Send_objflags/Receive_objflags should use RLE_LARGE encoding with gfx enabled
- Term_queue_char is assuming valid location to draw an attr/char pair, which is not always the case for subwindows; use Term_draw instead for subwindows (secure drawing)
- all transparency problems in bigtile mode should be fixed now
- some more monster attr/char definitions remapped in graf-new.prf (Adam Bolt tileset)
- the map displayed via Options/Map submenu (Win32 client) should display the whole level
- monsters should not be allowed to attack players in stores
- players in stores should not not be allowed to auto-retaliate
- easy_open now allows to open/close/disarm multiple doors/traps/chests

Please update servers and clients (yes, xdir is down again):
- client: http://www.humyo.fr/10073229/PWMAngband ... client.zip
- lib: http://www.humyo.fr/10073229/PWMAngband ... ta_lib.zip
- server: http://www.humyo.fr/10073229/PWMAngband ... server.zip
- source code: http://www.humyo.fr/10073229/PWMAngband ... ta_src.zip
