Hi!

I did not find any 1.1.7 server so I created some Temporary Test server to try it out.
Feel free to join as well if you want to have a look :)

Cheers

I have my Ironman server up when I'm at home. Dunno what happened to Later's server, but it would be nice to have a permanent server again.

:)

I wanted to setup some "power - saving " box soon so I could host a 24/7 probably. One question though - what kind of resources (memory & such) does the server need to host a nice pwmangband server?

Dunno... my PC is 5 years old, with only a P4 and 1Gb memory, and running a server seems ok. The main concern is your network connection: ADSL runs fine, Cable should be ok, better would be... better :)

My test server has been updated with a pre-release of build 2. It's just some server-side bugfix release and is compatible with build 1 clients. And still Ironman for fast diving!

Sweet, that's my setup too :)

I was running a P3 (around 800mhz) machine with 526MB memory filled with services some time ago and mangband worked quite good too. I think the general advice should be "if your hardware is <= 25 years old, you would be fine" :) The code hasn't changed that much since the old days. Plus PWMang offers optimizations! (Altho it's host OS of choice is known to be resource-hungry). But it's all moot, anyway, you could probably get it running on a refrigerator.
