This somewhat makes Robes of permanence worthless, unless the depths of robes of permanence are reduced.

Good feedback, noted. However, the robe is still lightweight while the Ithildin armors are heavier. Will think about ways to rework them though.

Robe of Permanence +30 +0 +0 +1d20 0 4 +30000
Resist Elements, Life Draining; Ignore Elements;
One Random Resist; Sustain All Stats.

Robe of permanence can be found at lvl 0. They're just really rare due to the fact that
a) robes don't drop in abundance deep down and
b) when they're found at shallow in the dungeon, it's really unlikely that it'll be an "excellent" item.

At least I think that's the reason. But your statement is 100% true. Well permanence robes have 1 random high resist instead of always having res light/conf.

Note, I will probably use random highs to replace at least one predefined high and in some cases also an ability or slay in some of these items, otherwise, due to the lore (what each specific type of item-background (dwarven, elvish, etc) they would get too similar highs. I'm also considering an either/or solution, where items get either res a or res b (possibly in addition to a random).

Same comment as with the plate mail. Gonnhirrim +3 +3 would be better than most artifacts and even PDSM.

How often is the metal shield of Thorin found? - all the time.

How often is an orchish avari +2+2 found? - very very rarely

How often will an Ithildin Gonnhirrim +3+3 be found? - I suspect even rarer.

Sorry for asking questions, just something to consider I think.

Well Zal is probably right... with the right combination of rarities on both Ithildin + Gonnhirrim, an ego Ithildin of the Gonnhirrim will be harder to find than a PDSM, not to mention that it would be even rarer to get one with perfect +3 +3 or even close. The lucky player able to find one of those will then have a perfect replacement for any artifact armor in the game...

Generally that is the idea for all these items - on their own each base/ego item will be on the level of low/medium artifacts, however if they're combined they'll potentially be just as good or better than the top artifacts and with a rarity to match that power.
