What's your most stupid/silly death in MAngband?

Here's what's probably the most stupid/silly death in TomeNET...

Just a little info... in TomeNET, when inside a permawalled vault:
- you cannot use Genocide
- you cannot use *Destruction*
- you cannot use Teleport, Teleport Other, Teleport Level, Phase Door...

I guess people there love to reroll their characters a lot... or they are simply masoschists.

So what's your most stupid/silly death in MAngband?

For me, the following two beat the rest:
- missing res nexus, a dracolisk breathes and teleports me away... inside an undead pit: http://www.mangband.org/Main/HighScoreC ... 1792873002
- finding a GV with wyrms inside, decided to kill the wyrms for xp instead of genociding the vault... and a dark elven sorcerer cast tele-to and I find myself inside the GV in the middle of all the wyrms: http://www.mangband.org/Main/HighScoreC ... -603987418

My most stupid death was... hmmmmm list is long one was before the lists have been created and lice gave XP :)

1. Went to a lice level
2. Went to a small corridor corner
3. Killed lice to earn cheap XP
went to bed


came back and started over a new character

A recent stupid death... hmmm didnt play for a long time... but with Yissa I followed some advise to use fireballs as mage, met gorlim ignored his hits and was only looking on his health and how my fireballs were doing... paafff dead.

I never did that because you would starve to death. Although, I did do that once as a ghost, because that way I would only fight one lice at a time and I wouldnt have hunger to worry about. Plus any level spawns would be far enough away to not come kill me.

This was after I learned the phrase 'zoo=never worth it', but before I finally realized that never really did mean never.

I saw some rather juicy looking dracolisks in there that I wanted to fight. I was scared, but I had a plan:
1: make a antisummon corrador with runes and places where they will get stuck
2: lure the monsters to one edge of the vault
3: run back and open the zoo up while they couldn't see me
4: kill dragons

The plan went awry at step 2, when I believe some unseen monster, probably an umber hulk, decided to wake up and open up the vault for all the nastiness inside to kill me.

I can't believe I didn't notice that I was missing Free Action. Note that I was carrying a FA ring even! It took about ten minutes of standing there paralyzed before they finally killed me. What I *should* have done, once I was paralyzed and knew I would die, would have been to log off and wait a day or two for the dungeon to reset. Back I'd be, ready to wait out the paralyze timeout. In stead I sat there staring at the screen and going "Why did I let this happen?" :-)

HEHE! One of my mages had a death similar to this poor fellow "One Quick Dive". The difference was that I didn't get a turn to react...
2nd line is an incredible optimistical expression.

Actually I think this is my most silly death ever.

I has ESP, and I thought the purple p was Lorgan. I figured: I can kill Saruman and Lorgan at the same time. Lorgan will die in just a couple of shots. Speed +16 and 3 shots per round with this: b) a Long Bow of Extra Might (x4) (+17,+22) (+1) and these: s) 99 Arrows of Frost (1d4) (+9,+9) {@f1}

Would eat Lorgan in a heartbeat, and also Saruman actually.

It turns out the purple p was Sauron, and the hobbit went *SPLAT!* in a hurry. Very very stupid silly death

Well, there's been a few. One of my favorites, for many reasons is this one:

The story is - bookless ironman hobbit mage spends a year in town buying discounted supplies, steps down, feels strong, steps on a trap... end of story. I think I actually laughed out loud :)
