....you can't train skills.
*wishes you could train skills* such as 'long blade' or 'short blade' or 'swimming' (by the way-why don't you drown when you go across a huge body of water?-kinda unrealistic :-/ )oh, not to mention 'climbing' and 'haggling' etc.. I once started on a QBASIC game and implemented skills into it and it wasn't that hard.. Shouldn't be too hard for working in C with a team that (guessing) knows the language well. Sorry if I'm being too pushy, but I really would think it would be a great idea being that all games have some form of skill list.

Re: ....you can't train skills.
mangband is based on Angband. Angband is a roguelike. Roguelike systems don't work the way you are expecting this too. in Roguelike games, you have attributes (states), you can improve, and your other stats improve as you gain experience.
There isn't much hope what you want will be added to mangband.

Are you not entertained?
