Ignore/Silence
Ignore/Silence
In our multi-player world we all run across people that we dislike or who from time to time annoy us for some reason or another. I would like to at this point suggest 2 things. First off an Ignore option so that we can not accept messages from individual people we don't want to listen to and a Silence option for those days when you're just plain moody and don't want to talk or listen to ANYONE.

Re: Ignore/Silence
Additionally, I think there should be some response back to the person who's trying to talk...this way, if I choose to ignore someone, they won't keep trying to talk to me if they know that I've chosen to ignore them.

Re: Ignore/Silence
Well yes, I was presupposing that would be an inherent intent. IE: someone talks specifically to your character and they would get a message like Jube is ignoring you today. Or Jube is ignoring everyone today etc..
Perhaps the capability for a short message for ignorees could be allowed so people could personalize it: I don't hate you I just ignore everyone! etc etc..

Re: Ignore/Silence
How about adding a symbol/something to the @ player list, similar to the function of making any players you are hostile too red? That would allow a quick means of determining who it would be worth sending a message to. Perhaps the party/hostile/player options menu could be expanded to have an "Ignore Player" and "Listen to Player". The whole setup could maybe function similar to hostile/unhostile options?

Re: Ignore/Silence
This situation would be easy to handle using Server messages, which are already there, which would be immune to such ignores.

Darn! That would have been most amusing.

Re: Ignore/Silence
Well we really really need this.
I saw a PK today, never nice to see a level 50 beat a level 6.
Not that the level 6 didnt deserv it, but a command in the chat to "NOT" see any more messages from "Nate" or whatever his name was, would prevent alot of these newbie kills.
One player could get :
"Marv starts Ignoring your messages"
If the player hasent Ignored Marv that is.
"Marv is listening again"
